Hit and Run Injures Two on West Side

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Indianapolis Metropolitan police are actively searching for a person who collided with two people riding a motorcycle. The two people on the motorcycle were injured in the collision but the other vehicle quickly left the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle, a man, is currently in the hospital labeled in serious condition. The woman passenger is also now in the hospital and described as being in critical condition.

According to Indianapolis police, the accident happened somewhere around midnight at the intersection of Washington and Denison. This area is located on the west side of town.

The Indianapolis Police Department says they are hunting for a maroon Astro van that may or may not have some damage to the side panel of the vehicle.

Police explained the accident by saying that the van was driving on Washington St. when it suddenly turned in front of the motorcycle. This is when it made contact with the motorcycle and subsequently injured the passengers on it. The maroon van, however, proceeded south down Denison St, leaving the scene entirely.

Police are asking anybody who may have seen anything or know exactly what happened to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. They will provide updates on the case as they become available.
