Amazon says five new logistics facilities are coming or have already opened in the Crossroads of America in 2021, creating hundreds of new jobs. One site, located at 3507 Olive Road in South Bend, opened in February 2021.

Moreover, these four sites will open sometime this year: 8325 N Norfolk Street, Indianapolis; 7114 West 200 North, Greenfield; Georgia Street and 100th, Merrillville and 2200 Memorial Parkway, Valparaiso.

Amazon is Offering Full-Time Jobs With Higher Wages

Moreover, Amazon says it will create hundreds of full-time jobs. They will have a starting wage of $15 per hour and offer benefits.

“The last mile of Amazon’s order fulfillment process is powered by delivery stations. In fact, there are packages that are transporting to delivery stations from Amazon fulfillment. In addition, as well as the sortation center. Next, they are then loading into vehicles for delivery to customers. Joined by the state’s seven existing delivery stations are Amazon Logistics’ new delivery stations. They are based in Indianapolis, Greenwood, Whiteland (AMXL Delivery Station), Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Gary. Moreover, the company has more than 250 delivery stations in the U.S.,” Amazon said in a release.

Electric Delivery Vehicles are Coming

However, the company says it is moving toward putting 10,000 electric delivery vehicles on the road in 2022.

“Investing in the state of Indiana, we are excited that five new delivery stations are going to provide efficient delivery for customers. Thereby, they will create hundreds of job opportunities for the state’s talented workforce. Amazon’s unshakeable commitment is representing by these new delivery stations. Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett issuing the following statement regarding Amazon’s presence in Indiana.

“Indianapolis shows yet again the state can attract and grow jobs. We give thanks to our high standard of life, business-friendly sector, and sturdy regional economy. Thereby, we are proud to welcome Amazon’s ongoing investment in jobs and facilities in our community.
