If you are a new fan of car racing like NASCAR, Formula 1, or any other car racing competition, it can be a bit overwhelming. Attending one of these races can be even more intimidating than just watching on the television. There are a lot of things that can make or break a live experience watching one of these races. We highly recommend following this guide to make sure your race-watching experience is nothing but fun in the sun!
Get There Early
Just like any other big event, the race is going to be packed with other guests and cars. We highly recommend beating the driving and foot traffic by arriving closer to the race’s actual start time. By getting there early you will also likely get to see and partake in some pre-race events. Typically, they have things like Q & A’s with drivers, games with crowd interactions for prizes, and lots of other fun stuff!
Participate in the Other Activities
Depending on what track you go to, there will be lots of other activities to participate in before and during the race. Some will have audience games to play, host concerts, or have special exhibits to see. You definitely do not want to miss any of these sorts of activities, so be sure to check out what is going on at the race you are at, so you do not miss them!
Bring Ear Protection
To some, this probably seems laughable, but until you are at a race, you probably do not realize truly how loud it is. Not only are there many cars driving by at extremely fast speeds, but you are also sitting among a group of people roaring with pride. It is extremely hard to hear anything aside from the cars during the race, so we suggest investing in some sort of noise-reducing headphones or earplugs in order to protect your hearing and ears.
Bring Your Own Food and Drinks
If the track allows it, you should definitely bring your own food and drinks. The prices at most tracks for food and drinks can get pretty steep, so you could end up spending a hefty sum. Not only are the prices high, but the waits are likely long too. The lines for concessions at a race can get unbelievably long in just a small amount of time. Plus, part of the fun of a race is having your own cooler and taking out a beer or eating some snacks whenever you want.
