When it comes to visiting your loved ones in the hospital, you can never be too careful. It;s very important to make sure that you keep your family safe from the threats of the invisible illnesses at all times. This is the very case for anyone wishing to visit a hospital in MArion County, as there will be the need to follow temporary restrictions that are aimed towards making the spread much slower in the case of the flu and additional respiratory illnesses. Therefore, as dire as it may be, the new rules are pretty strict as they are implementing the following: No visitors with symptoms of influenza, let alone any visitors under the age of eighteen, and every visitor has a limit of up to two immediate family members, as specifically recognized as family on the part of the patient.

There are plenty of Hospitals in the county that are choosing to participate in the temporary visitor restrictions, such as those within Community Health network, Ascension St. Vincent, Eskenazi Health, Franciscan Health Indianapolis, and Indiana University Health.

Maybe COVID-19 has something to do with it. Maybe not.

At this rate, the flu is spreading around Marion County harder than it ever has before. In recent memory, there have never been as many cases as there are now. Therefore, such restrictions are a necessary evil, as they represent a multi-faceted effort to secure even the most vulnerable patients away from the dangers and perils of the fly virus. The bug could cause serious damage and have had, in some cases, lead to an extension in residency at the hospital as well as death.

Throughout the week of November 20th to November 26th, there had been a skyrocketing of influenza reported in patients all over Marion County emergency rooms. This has been the highest it has ever been in the past ten years. Such a rate of influenza shows itself at the highest between the ages of five and seventeen.

Visitors will need to check in through the website, therefore, to discover what exactly are their rules and policies, as newly implemented throughout this particular county of Maryland. Sometimes, there are exceptions to the rule, depending on which hospital you plan to visit. There can even be special arrangements made to allow more visitors and the youngest kinds as well, especially at the end-of-life.

Of course, there are the hospitals in Marion County that they themselves have adopted in visitor restrictions, like Franciscan Health Mooresville, Franciscan Health Carmel, IU Health Tipton Hospital and IU Health Saxony Hospital.
