The International Brotherhood of Teamsters is driven to make collective bargaining a fair game for everyone at XPO Logistics. imilar Trucking Companies see an opportunity to gain traction for Congress, as they wield the total support of President Joe Biden.
Earlier, in February, a new act was introduced. Titled the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, it allows for unions to be organized in the workplace, without fear of being intimidated or threatened by the very hands that pay them. Secondly, there has been an intent to increase union membership.
Within the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace, are several members of note. The Truckload Carriers Association, the American Trucking Associations and the National Tank Truck Carriers among many more.
The Teamsters say that these provisions in the bill will allow for the union to make headway in organization of drivers moving less-than-truckload freight at XPO Logistics. Such is a handful of facilities at XPO when winning recognition to rep drivers. The workers were at one point voting to organize protests at certain XPO locations. In such a manner, the company had the ability to avoid actual contracts.

As of October, the last thing from XPO is how the employees want a union-free future. “Including recently, when our employees [would vote] down the union four times after four different organizing campaigns.” At least, that’s what they mention about similar allegations occurring even back then.
And what’s wrong with that? Some truck drivers wanting to start a union? It’s totally understandable. The way this country has been going, it’d be a bigger upset if we didn’t try. Something good like that can really contribute to some change. Unions are powerful exercises of our human ability to have humane superabilities. Wouldn’t you like to be a part of something great like that? XPO workers would, most certainly.
Lastly, this is all just to say things are great with Teamsters involving themselves in the process. Furthermore, Teamsters really make a world of difference in their collective efforts.
