Ford has finally unveiled the interior of the Mustang GTD, and it’s surprisingly more comfortable than what you’d expect from a car that’s built for both the street and the race track. One of the coolest features inside is a second rear window that offers a live view of the Mustang’s unique Multimatic rear suspension.

Ford has also shared details about the Mustang GTD’s Performance package. This package adds active aerodynamic features, 20-inch magnesium wheels, and a chin spoiler with dive planes. The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD has two rear windows. One provides the typical rear view, while the other shows off its special pushrod-style rear suspension. This second window feature was revealed along with the rest of the GTD’s interior, which we are seeing for the first time.

Back in August, Ford gave us our first look at the Mustang GTD, priced over $300,000, and highlighted some of its coolest features. But now, seeing the interior, it’s clear it’s much more welcoming than we thought. The digital displays dominate the dashboard like other Mustang models. The car is filled with carbon-fiber trim, and the Recaro front seats look much more comfortable than the thinly padded seats found in other track-focused cars.

While the GTD shares the flat-bottomed steering wheel with other Mustangs, it has exclusive features. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather with a microsuede lining inside the rim and includes buttons for adjusting suspension settings and exhaust modes. Behind the wheel are 3-D-printed titanium paddle shifters for changing gears.

Like the Shelby GT500, the GTD uses a rotary shift knob on the center console for its eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle. Although not everyone’s favorite way to change gears, it’s the main method here. Below the center stack, there are physical buttons for the front-axle lift system and Track apps. The GTD also borrows the supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine from the GT500, but it’s been modified to produce over 800 horsepower.

Performance Package
Ford has announced that the Mustang GTD will come with a Performance package aimed at achieving a sub-seven-minute lap time at the Nürburgring. This package adds dive planes and a front splitter to the car’s front, and it includes undercar flaps and a drag-reduction system for the rear wing. These active aerodynamic features are complemented by weight-saving measures such as 20-inch magnesium wheels and reduced sound-deadening materials.

The GTD shown in Chroma Flame paint features both the Performance package and the Carbon Series treatment, which leaves the car’s carbon-fiber hood, roof, and rear “Tech Deck” exposed for everyone to see. We are eager to get behind the wheel, but for now, the Mustang GTD’s looks and features are impressive.
